Social Services and Community Resources at the Shorefront Y provide valuable and accessible programs to the members of our community.


We help individuals and families navigate the social service system, assist with crisis intervention and inform clients about the community and government resources that are available to them.


Our goal is to build strong families and community by promoting health and safety, preventing crises and easing the transition into American society.


Our Services and Resources Include:

• Entitlement and Benefits Assistance
• Legal Assistance and Financial Consultations
• Immigrant Domestic Violence Program
• Child and Family Medical Insurance*
• Adult Health Awareness and Prevention
• Referral Services to Community and Government Agencies

Walk-in-Clinic

Every Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m.– 12:30 p.m. we offer practical assistance to a large number of clients in the form of brief meetings with knowledgeable and skilled caseworkers.

For more comprehensive advocacy and assistance we encourage people to schedule appointments in advance.

 

Single Stop

The Single Stop Program provides valuable resources to the community through comprehensive case management, public benefits screenings, and application assistance; the end goal being self-sufficiency.

All services are provided on-site. Clients are provided tailored assistance depending on their needs. Clients can access financial counseling, legal counseling, and employment assistance.

Our clients come from a wide range of ethnicities and cultural backgrounds. We are sensitive to the needs of all of our clients and aim to serve them with the highest standards in the social service field.

  • If you receive Food Stamps and/or other benefits, you qualify for the Home Energy Assistance Program.
  • If you receive Food Stamps and/or other benefits, you qualify for a free cell phone.
  • Even if you did not work this year, you may still be eligible for tax credits.
  • Come to the Single Stop Program to find out what you may qualify for.
  • We provide free legal and financial counseling.
  • All services are free and confidential.
