KinderMusik - Mommy and Me

Introduce your child to a musical world filled with sound, instruments, exploration and creative movement! This mommy & me class offers a unique blend of musical learning activities that stimulate and engage all of the senses.

Russian-Jewish Enrichment

In this Sunday morning experience, children move from arts & craft, to dance, then to theater, and finally to story-time. Taught in Russian, this class helps each child explore the world in his or her own way, while learning about our heritage and culture.

Ballroom Dance

Intro to Cha-Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Tango, and Waltz. Younger dancers learn to follow basic choreography while developing rhythm, balance and coordination. As students develop their abilities, they are paired for more advanced techniques.

Russian

Through interactive games and exercises, students learn or improve their ability to read and write in Russian, expanding their vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension.

Cartooning

With the guidance of a professional cartooning artist, students learn to design original characters, apply a variety of actions and expressions, draw their characters from different points of view, and create their own original comic strips.

Art

Cultivating artistic skills as well as imagination, in art class students will learn to use a variety of mediums such as painting, drawing, and collage, developing their skills and self-expression.

Guitar

Students, from beginner to advanced levels, develop their technique and improvisation skills, moving towards the ability to play in an ensemble.

Developing correct arm, wrist and finger placement, student develop proper technique using classical masterpieces as a foundation and progressing towards improvisation and ensemble performance.

Artist and Me

Artist and Me is a new and exciting program that emphasizes Jewish learning, art, and pedagogy in a fun environment. Our curriculum has connections to beautiful Jewish texts, stories, multidisciplinary creating and concepts and teaches children to think deeply, flexibly, and imaginatively. As a result children are able to construct a very personal connection to Judaism, express themselves and to become self-reliant, creative and independent thinkers. At the end of the semester everyone will be able to participate in a spectacular theatrical performance show for the entire family.

Classes in Art, Music and Drama will be taught by professional Artist/Print-maker Zhenya Plechkina, Theater Director Ben Sargent and Composer/Musician Ilia Skibinsky.

Chess

Chess is a game that develops critical and analytical thinking, as well as problem solving skills. Students of all ages and skill levels are welcome to learn the secrets of the world's most popular and prestigious game. The classes will cover basics of the game, developing familiarity with pieces and movements, as well as in-depth strategies for playing full games. For more experienced students, full games will be held to improve overall chess strategies and skills.
